Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The cladding below the eaves has been depicted in a hardiplank look, which we don't like. We need to decide what product to use so we can ask the builder. We would like it to be a smooth surface we can paint/install the same colour as the render which will be on the left hand side of the front elevation. The right hand side will be sycon matrix. Would foam work? What do we need to specify? I should add those aren't actually our final elevations, we have already changed the portion around the front door to rendered brick. But that cladding remains just below the eaves above where you can see the internal roof line drawn. Re: Cladding products for external finish 2Apr 02, 2015 2:29 pm I'm no expert. Along with looking at fibre cement products (both of which hardiplank & scyon are), you may want to investigate Magnesium Oxide (MgO) products. MgO boards appear to be a much greener alternative to FC boards (cement production is one of the worst producers of CO2, accounting for 5-7% of the world's emissions). MgO is also durable, fire, water, UV & mold resistant. As I say though, I'm no expert. Others will know if MgO is a superior cladding product. Re my second point – yes exactly. And often it may take additional time if the manufacturer recommends no more than X meters… 3 5643 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9565 4 14463 |
