Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 22, 2015 7:18 pm Has anyone used the PAX modular components from Ikea? The Clarendon display home we looked at actually had this system fitted for display and it looked great. Just not sure if this is something that can be used for standard built in robes? You can build your own from scratch straight from the Ikea website as well.. http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_AU/rooms_idea ... index.html Cheers, Paul (& Lisa) Parkhill 36 by ClarendonHomes in Coomera Retreat H1 Build Thread And Blog Building Blogs List - Go Ahead And Add Yours!! Re: Built In and Walk In Robe Fitouts... 4Mar 23, 2015 3:24 pm They seem pretty good (for a flatpac). The draws and cupboards all worked as expected and there is a lot of options on how you want to configure them. Re: Built In and Walk In Robe Fitouts... 5Mar 23, 2015 5:57 pm After reading this post I went to the Ikea web site & tried to select some fitted robes for my build but I was defeated & gave up. There did not seem to be any way to adjust the width of the fitted robes to suit my build. One of the robes nearly fitted but was 10mm too wide. I am interested if anyone on this forum has worked out how to customise the dimensions. I had the same problem trying to order a flat pack kitchen. Re: Built In and Walk In Robe Fitouts... 6Mar 24, 2015 7:21 am Yes I noticed the same problem once I inputted my dimensions. The system could potentially work for some, but for me it could mean a lot of wasted space. Having said that I only played with it for 10 mins. Re: Built In and Walk In Robe Fitouts... 7Mar 24, 2015 10:41 pm We're considering buying these pax units for our walk in robe. The robe come in what they call modules. There are 2 depth, 58cm and a narrower 35cm I believe. There are also 2 or 2 height options, we're going for the tallest being 236cm. Is terms of width, there is a 100cm, 75cm and 50cm unit. They can't be made to custom sizes but can get them fairly close. We have a 3.57cm x 2.50cm room. So we've decided to go with 2x100cm and 2x75cm robes on each side, then we'll customise the internals to suit. Also ikea have a $100 ikea voucher on offer for ever $500 spend... sale on until mid April. Re: Built In and Walk In Robe Fitouts... 9Mar 25, 2015 7:44 pm We went to our local cabinet maker for our kids bedrooms, walk in robe and walk in panty( very large ). Looking at the prices here, we had wardrobes made 2500 wide, 8 draws, 2 hanging areas and 6 shelves. The cost was about half of what they are offering here. That included soft closing draws and doors. It all came flat packed and the chippy slapped it all together for $35/h. They made a few cutting errors and we just told them to come and pick it up and fix it. A bit of complaining, but they did it at no extra cost. Cabinetry is a very competitive industry, so there are deals to be had. Re: Built In and Walk In Robe Fitouts... 10Apr 04, 2015 7:20 am We used Pax to fit hot our wardrobe 5 years ago. Still looks as good today with no issues. For the issue of fitting in the modules we simply cut a unit down slightly - it was one that was being left open without a door anyway so only the back board, base and top plates had to be cut. Used a circular saw and taped the boards first to reduce splintering. Some things are worth waiting for. Do you really want to accommodate the window? What is on the outside of the window?
