They are always having to get rid of it. What do you want it for if you don't mind me asking? There is sawdust from cutting H3 -H5 timber that I wouldn't want to use owing to the chemical preservatives whereas the dust from cutting hardwood wouldn't be anywhere near as bad. Stewie Re: Where to get sawdust 4Feb 26, 2015 9:14 am Was wanting to use it to make modelling flock. Would be happy to use other material for this but apparently saw dust is the standard. Went to the local timber yard (Chatswood) but they said that they didn't have the stuff and advised that it was dangerous (although I am thinking that that may be the treated stuff). Re: Where to get sawdust 5Feb 27, 2015 11:29 am Warringah Timbers at Cromer on the Northern Beaches may be one place to look although they may tell you the same thing. If the sawdust is a light colour, chances are it is from pine and may be treated. If it is a darker brown then it is probably from cutting and planing hardwood so a lot less likelihood of preservatives being used. Stewie Re: Where to get sawdust 7Mar 23, 2015 9:31 pm Tannin in timber is what gives it its colour so anything that will affect that would be the way to go. Bleach maybe ?? Or a google search will turn up a few home cooked recipes. If the sawdust is from hardwood maybe just giving it a good soak in some water for 24hrs will leach a lot of it out. Stewie I think the proposal that a supply and demand curve are a natural law are well exaggerated. Wages never seem to follow this curve, and also prices for supply are sticky… 18 20194 Go to an actual paint store, not bunnings. Dulux even have trade centers. Don't have to be a trade to but their paint. 1 14060 Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single… 1 10108 |
