We have a relative who works at a masonary yard and has offered us 3 pallets of interlocking retaining bricks for 20 cents a brick. Have been quoted $380 per lineal metre using the same bricks so keen to do it ourselves? Do we need it checked over by an engineer during or after the process? We have existing retaining walls on both sides of our property but need to extend the retaining wall on the left hand side. We are in the Moreton bay council area and because the wall in under 1 metre in height, we don't need council approval nor do we need an engineer.
