Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 23, 2015 9:46 am We are commencing the build on our new home (our 3rd house build). We are building on 1 acre battle-axe block in a beachside suburb in Nth Qld. A one level, block render home. Has anyone recently used colorbond Basalt on a hip and valley roof?? If so, would you mind posting a picture I love the look of basalt on samples, however I have not seen it in the flesh. We are definitely drawn to greys this time. The colour scheme options I am thinking is as follows: OPTION 1 Roof: Colorbond Basalt Gutters and Fascia: Colorbond Basalt Eaves: Shale Grey half strength Main Render: Shale Grey Accent Render: Basalt (possibly half strength?) Roller door: Basalt Window frames: Silver Other: Timber and glass custom made front pivot door Other: Aluminium look timber louvres OPTION 2 Roof: Colorbond Surfmist Gutters: Colorbond Surfmist Fascia: Colorbond Basalt Eaves: Surfmist Main Render: Surfmist Accent Render: Basalt (possibly half strength?) Roller door: Surmist Window frames: Silver Other: Timber and glass custom made front pivot door Other: White Aluminium louvres I am torn between the light or dark roof plus the timber or white louvres. This is our FOREVER build, so I'm feeling the pressure. Trying to pick a scheme that won't date in 2 years (although I realise everything dates at some point!). As much as I feel white aluminium louvres will look fresh, I feel that timber is more timeless - thoughts? Any pictures or advice particularly on the basalt roof and render colour would be very much appreciated. Thanks! kjs Re: Exterior Grey Colour Scheme advice needed - Colorbond Ba 2Feb 23, 2015 1:43 pm http://www.studiom.com.au/envisage Say goodbye to the rest of your day.
