I say generally speaking because developers have some s n e a k y stuff out there, but your price should be safe There are out clauses for you if land isn't registered within a specified time also. Also if you were to sell your land to a developer they usually sign a contract with you for a certain price, but either put a long settlement (years) or settlement time is based on other developments or stages in the area. And guess what, they get in early, years ahead to secure your land at a low price before the soon to come infrastructure increases the price. This way they lock in a low future price on your land It is common that land registration runs later than the planned dates the salesman dish out. There can be many reasons for this, it's not usually the developer stating false dates to begin with.
