Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 11, 2015 8:28 am One of our curtain rails has fallen out of the wall into which it was affixed. It turns out that the person who put it in had rendered the walls with about 1 inch of concrete, at then only bothered to drill the holes to attach the rail into the rendering. Hence it was unstable and when it fell out the plug ripped out a large amount of the rendering (leaving some unsightly holes). I was wondering how to go about fixing this. As the rendering is there, if I want to go and put very long plugs into the masonry I am going to have trouble (as I can’t tell where the mortar between the bricks is). I am not totally averse to taking the curtain down, however this will mean that we have no privacy from the street. Any suggestions? Re: Curtain rail falling out of wall 3Jan 11, 2015 9:51 am Just patch the chunk of render that broke away and drill through it and into the brick behind. Much better fixing than into the mortar joint anyway, which would pull out too. Electrical just got back to me and said the most they can provide is a single power point on the Bedroom 1 side of that wall. After handover, your towel rail installer… 2 3815 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5143 4 14259 |
