Our front door is in an alcove and faces east. Every morning there is a swarm of mosquitoes resting there, for some reason they appear to gravitate to this area (i.e. there might be 20-30 of them there but you wouldn't see them on any other side of the house).
This is causing us some problems as it means that we frequently get them in the house (and then are attacked by them each night).
Does anyone have any ideas as to why they may be resting in this one spot? I have tried putting surface bug spray on the ceiling of the alcove but this does not appear to work (and I am reluctant to put anything too toxic there given that it will mean that we will be exposed to it every time we walk in the house. I have also tried a bug catcher, but with limited success.
