Another quick post from me, hoping someone can help Driving past our potential house today i noticed there is a large pine type (not very knowledgable on my nature ) tree in the front yard. I would have to knock this tree down as it is sitting in the area where our future front porch would be... I rang council and they said something along 'providing the tree's circumference near the ground is 400mm or less we don't need council approval to knock it down', I haven't been able to measure it, the trunk looks sort of average size for a tree I would say. In case it is bigger and we do need to seek approval though, has anyone gone down the same path and have any advice, are council generally strict on allowing you to remove trees. Also does anyone have a good company and approx cost to remove?? I'm praying this doesn't stand in our way of building, surely not!!!! Thanks again bel My karma ran over your dogma Re: Tree Removal 3Jun 13, 2008 6:20 pm Are you sure they said circumference, that's only 130 mm thick (diameter) or 5" not a very big tree (for a pine anyway).
Edit.....besides it's a pine not exactly indigenous. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Tree Removal 4Jun 13, 2008 6:21 pm Hahha a mind that thinks like my own I like it P!!
Seriously though I was thinking of just knocking it down without telling them, and if anyone said anything, which I doubt they would I will just say it measure 350mm in circumference I was hoping when the people come to demolish the house they can just take the tree with them My karma ran over your dogma Re: Tree Removal 5Jun 13, 2008 6:21 pm If it’s in the way of building, your builder will submit to have the tree taken down; you shouldn’t need to worry about it.
