Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 27, 2014 4:09 pm Our house (new build) was sprayed on Tuesday. They have done the roof doors, skirts etc and what looks like the first coat on the walls. The wall colour looks a lot darker than what we chose. Took our large sample board that we painted when we were deciding on colours up to the house today to hold against the walls and it is a lot lighter than the walls. We chose a dulux colour in 1/4 strength. What's on the walls looks full strength. My question is. Is what's on the walls currently an 'undercoat' and not our actual colour? Or are all coats usually painted in the chosen colour? Re: A question for painters 2Nov 27, 2014 5:28 pm Emz Our house (new build) was sprayed on Tuesday. Re: A question for painters 7Dec 04, 2014 9:50 pm Depends on the substrate being painted. If it is gyprock then normal spec would be a water based sealer then two coats of acrylic. Sometimes the sealer ca be tinted. If it is float and set plaster then the spec is oil based sealer binder and two top coats of acrylic. Some sealer binders are also tinted. thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10404 You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9948 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters. If… 1 6138 |
