Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 29, 2014 4:32 pm How accurate does a waterproofing certificate need to be? (in Victoria) I have a waterproofing certificate that only mentions one bathroom but two bathrooms have been worked on. The certificate has the name of a company that I cannot find a business listing for (has a registered business name from ASIC but as far as I can tell no ABN under the business name or yellow pages/internet presence - that is, I cannot find any record of it apart from ASIC). There is no contact details (ie phone number, ABN, installer name) on the certificate and the supervisor of the work was recorded as the site manager for my builder (who organised the tradespeople on site). I have a building inspection report that says there doesn't appear to be evidence of proper waterproofing ie water stops and tiles fell down - due to incorrect adhesive - (applied by the waterproof tradie) during the renovation and the membrane came off the walls but replacement membrane was not applied. There were multiple tilers (as there were lots of problems with the tiling) and I was not advised the name of the person who did the alleged waterproofing by the builder (no longer a positive relationship there). This doesn't sound right - any advice out there? just talk to them, tell them it is unsightly and ask them for a solution. Any reasonable person would render it for you or do something similar. If they give you trouble… 4 14052 I have researched this topic in detail recently but for another state which has no licensing requirements at all so any handy man can waterproof any old way and not have… 1 6449 2 6475 |
