Do you mind PM me your electrician info? We are looking for one. Thanks. PM sent. Re: Small custom rental build WA- tiles nearly done 543Sep 30, 2015 5:46 pm It's all systems go at the build, the plumber is there today, the tiler finishing off the grouting, and the electrician. He's already installed the pendants, fans and LEDs, waiting only on our ensuite wall light (it will be hung after the mirror goes in). Had a sneak peek at my tapware and I'm in love. Wish I could swop them over into my own home! Didn't take any pics this time, there was too much comings and goings with all 3 trades there and we were in a hurry, just dropping off the rangehood for the kitchen. The builder has ordered the robe doors, it's all coming together quite quickly. Re: Small custom rental build WA- tiles nearly done 544Sep 30, 2015 6:01 pm Awesome, I always love it when there are multiple trades on a site, makes it feel so energetic Re: Small custom rental build WA- tiles nearly done 545Oct 01, 2015 10:40 am Sounds like things are really motoring now! Can't wait to see all the finishing touches! Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 546Oct 05, 2015 9:00 pm Managed to get the key today to take some pics. Still bits and pieces of tiling left to do, but Stewie's done a magnificent job! http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Niche%20tile%20grouted_zpshr1s0uqg.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Glass%20vessel2%201_zpsuaev1r9u.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Rail%20_zpsrsqv7oo1.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/shower%20fittings_zpsh2x74e8d.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Lever%20bath%20taps_zps692o4kp1.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Basin%20amp%20tap%20installed_zpsli8tvv1v.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Pendants%20in%20place_zpse4gqsbt6.jpg Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 548Oct 05, 2015 10:40 pm Thanks Livpal. I forgot the laundry tap pic. I do so like lever taps! http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Laundry%20tap_zpsj85eqpwt.jpg I'm looking forward to seeing it all when everything's clean and the floor is finally polished.... Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 549Oct 06, 2015 3:02 am That looks lovely Trees - I really REALLY like the niche tile even more so with the white grouting. And the basin goes with it perfectly. The pendants look great too - perfect for the spot! Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 550Oct 06, 2015 11:01 pm Oh that's gorgeous! Your rental is going to be such a wonderful place to live - lucky tenants! The niche tile is stunning, and those red pendants in the kitchen make the splashback stand out even more. Love it! Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 552Oct 07, 2015 3:50 pm I agree about the niche tiling. I don't think I would have chosen white grout but it looks fabulous, well done. My build thread: Custom build on 40 acres viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75656 Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 553Oct 07, 2015 6:20 pm Thanks Mals, Trixee, AKB & MnT. The kitchen pendants do look "red" there don't they, but they are actually brushed copper, very dusty ones! Funny that the niche tile colour looks true to life in the pic, but not them. Maybe it's the splash back reflecting again!!! Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 554Oct 07, 2015 7:57 pm + another 1 for that niche tile. It's gorgeous Trees, very jealous of your tenants! Re: Small custom rental build WA- a lick of paint 555Oct 14, 2015 5:05 pm Thanks Nikkis. I'm chuffed to say the painter has started today. It won't be long before I see my parrot fish door! Can't wait.
He was very dubious about the colour and having a white surround. I also asked him to paint the inside of the door the same...He said he's been painting for 30 years and 2 days and never had that request. So I told him it didn't hurt to break tradition But I was thinking no matter how the tenants decorate the hall as regards pictures or a runner, you don't see the doorway until you round the corner. Should I have left it neutral on the inside?? Also I finalised the outside paint. Gutters are shale greyll Barge: shale grey Finial: shale grey So the cutouts on fascia (don't know the tec term, but it's "the emu's footprint") will be shale grey with background of surfmist (see below). http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/a9f036ed-38c1-4176-853f-830a7126073c_zpsgcgxph1v.jpg Re: Small custom rental build WA- pics 556Oct 14, 2015 5:10 pm I agree, lucky tenants! Ohhh, copper pendants. I'm having copper pendants also! Love the beautiful tapware. Is the kitchen tap black? - love it. I also like the tiles you have chosen. Tell me ... is it less stressful making choices for a rental? I'm guessing you don't have to be as emotionally involved? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76666 our custom build on 25 acres Re: Small custom rental build WA- a lick of paint 557Oct 14, 2015 5:21 pm Hi Trees - our door here is blue outside and white inside to match the frame and the internals. I definitely prefer it that way]s as it doesn't tie you in to any colours on the inside. I actually asked about having it done like that through RedInk and they said no, they do both sides the same which was why we'd gone with white, can always change it ourselves later if the house needs a bit of colour. Re: Small custom rental build WA- a lick of paint 558Oct 14, 2015 5:31 pm Hi Admodra, yes it's black. I love it too and wanted a black sink but too many $$$s. I've noticed the brushed copper is not as shiny, you can see the "lines" too, but I think it fits in with the semi-industrial vibe. Well, I actually care the same way I did about building my own place. I wouldn't put poor quality stuff in it just because it's a rental, I would actually have rather not built it if I couldn't afford to do something nice. So not really less stressful in that way. But my builder, bless him, hasn't put one foot wrong. He's a STAR. He really is a perfectionist and has hand picked his trades and supervises them himself. I would recommend him to ANYONE. Well Mals they are stuck with a teal door both sides. I doubt if it will totally put them off renting...unless many people have an aversion to teal???? (nervous laugh)....!!!!! Re: Small custom rental build WA- a lick of paint 559Oct 14, 2015 5:42 pm Ha, Trees, teal is totally in at the moment anyway, I'm sure you'll be fine! The exterior colours sound lovely. Looking forward to seeing it finished off! Re: Small custom rental build WA- a lick of paint 560Oct 14, 2015 6:34 pm Haha you'll be fine - looking forward to seeing it very much too! DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Follow up question - any ideas on how to set up a portable air conditioner through this kind of window? 1 6616 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34542 |
