Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Small custom rental build WA- nuther peek 521Sep 21, 2015 1:18 pm Gah, didn't get the update. Kitchen looks wonderful, the brick really makes a great statement. Exciting to see it come together. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 522Sep 24, 2015 7:12 pm Thanks, I've actually had loads of probs trying to login to H1!! Couldn't get my fix of everyone's builds!!! I don't know what's going on, sorry if I miss out on your posts again in future. It seems to be an ongoing glitch.
I have some tiling progress pics. Ensuite: http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Ensuite%20tiling%20begins%201_zpsxacn3iox.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/ensuite%202_zpsnnlwdn8a.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Niche_zpssnlqqhcg.jpg I was too late to ask for the cabinet hob to be recessed back further. Next build Main bathroom started: http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/main%20bathroom%20tile_zps60gwleff.jpg The laundry and kitchen should also be finished by friday this week. Only the skirts will be done in the laundry (due to charcoal concrete floor.) Also the electrician should come in very soon. Exciting. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 523Sep 24, 2015 8:19 pm PS forgot to post this one. The finial on the roof, yet to be painted (and the trim). The painter will seal the brick splash as well, as we decided to have it done now, otherwise it would be almost impossible to seal behind the stove after handover... http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Finial_zpsxrp19f8b.jpg Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 524Sep 25, 2015 9:15 am I think H1's been playing silly buggers as I'm still having problems getting notifications properly. The first tiling pic didn't come through, but the rest is looking great! Good idea to seal the splash back now. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 525Sep 25, 2015 10:47 am Yeah, as well as no notifications (I've had only 5 in two weeks) every time I reset my password, and change it I can't log in after the first time (whether I've saved it as auto login or not). It's been happening for about the last month or so... Not sure why this pic didn't post. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Ensuite%20tiling_zps97ejq8sw.jpg Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 526Sep 25, 2015 10:52 am Ooh, looks very nice! Same combo as me, dark floors white walls Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 527Sep 25, 2015 11:30 am "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"... I'ts a good combo!! Initially I wanted to copy AKB's timber and concrete look bathroom just for the ensuite, but the budget didn't stretch to it. And I do love a faux marble look- though these aren't as veiny as the pic I saw of them on the website. ?? Apparently they are the same tile though. I checked If we were moving in, I would have splurged and done floor to ceiling everywhere, but you have to stop somewhere with a rental. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 528Sep 25, 2015 7:04 pm Treeseachanger Re cabinets, sorry forgot to say that my suspicions were right. Cabinets are set from basin height- as ours are above bench. It doesn't look good really. The bathroom one is ok. But the ensuite looks far too low even with the vessel perched on it. I hope the tiling will bring it all together... PS sorry everyone if I've missed a lot of your posts, I've had problems logging in. I thought that would be the case. Have seen it in some display homes. Hey it's your rental don't stress. Tenants won't. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 529Sep 25, 2015 8:55 pm Looking great Trees. Funny I first though you had pink benchtops but then realised it was the plastic. Thought you were going for a new pink/brown trend My build thread: Custom build on 40 acres viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75656 Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 530Sep 26, 2015 10:16 am Beazley77 Treeseachanger Re cabinets, sorry forgot to say that my suspicions were right. Funny I first though you had pink benchtops but then realised it was the plastic. Thought you were going for a new pink/brown trend when I first looked through the back window my eyes almost popped out, then I realized the shiny plastic is reflecting the color off the red brick! wasn't the pink/brown bedroom trend touted as sort of a "chocolate box" look? Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 532Sep 26, 2015 4:29 pm I'm pretty sure I commented on this - tapatalk is doing my head in! I love the walk in shower, Trees, and the feature tile in the niche is beautiful Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 533Sep 26, 2015 5:37 pm Thanks Malsannie, the tiler loves them too, he said he's going to use them in their kitchen remodel for his splash back. I only needed 3 sheets, so it wasn't a huge expense for us to use them. And it fits in with my teal-charcoal-white theme. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 534Sep 26, 2015 6:06 pm Tiles are looking great Trees. I like the dark wall in the shower. We've done a similar thing. Hmm pink and brown, could be onto something there. Some sort of 70's revival Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 536Sep 28, 2015 11:42 am nikkis2000 Tiles are looking great Trees. Some sort of 70's revival Thanks Nikkis, do you mean the mocha/greige main bath wall tiles? I went with the same tile floor and wall in the end as the tiler said they would have to be offset otherwise, and I wanted straight grout lines. TomCat Gorgeous!! Thanks TC. Tiling should be finished now. Darn the long weekend! (just kidding ) I've actually had 3 days of notifications now, so maybe the glitch is fixed.. and no probs with new login so far- fingers crossed. Re: Small custom rental build WA- some tiling pics 537Sep 28, 2015 7:33 pm Trees I think your bathroom cabinets look great - they don't look too low <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=62083">viewtopic.php?t=62083</a><!-- l --> Re: Small custom rental build WA- tiles nearly done 538Sep 29, 2015 1:30 pm Thanks AKB I hope so, I have forgotten how high the glass vessel stands. We met with the electrician today and discussed how many pendants over the bench, the three looked good (I was worried they would look too crowded). Now I need to shop around for some DIY shades for the rest of the house. I'm still chasing up quotes for the outside area and getting a quote for painting as DH can't face it. But he might have to if the quote is too much The main bathroom tiling (really fiddly around the bath) is going ahead. I'm getting mitred edges no charge- a lovely surprise- as the tiler won't do plain edges on principle!! How good is that?! http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Mainbath3_zpsm2y2dslu.jpg http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Main%20bath%20brookfield2_zps6wrh683k.jpg Laundry splashback tiles and skirts are on. The benchtop is so filthy it's unrecognisable!! It's actually a dark black/olive. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/Laundry%20splashback_zpsvi8gelsf.jpg I'm really happy with all the work and the build in general. Ours are Mocha too but look to be a different size (300x300) We're having them as floor and wall in the en-suite except on the feature wall which is a lighter cream colour. Great news about the mitred edges! DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Follow up question - any ideas on how to set up a portable air conditioner through this kind of window? 1 6357 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34371 |
