We've hired a designer (like an interior designer/draftsman) to help put a final design for a bathroom/kitchen reno into place. They provided an estimate and work would be done on an hourly basis. I've recently questioned some of the hours undertaken as their plans ran ahead before they consulted me on number of things and as it turned out, I didn't like where they'd gone with the ideas. Now I have their next bill and they have charged me the time to review the invoices. Surely any correspondence / time dealing with invoice queries should not be charged to the client? (This would never happen in the corporate industry that I work in.) I understand they need to apportion their hours across clients but I find charging me to reply to my invoice queries out of line.
