The reason i ask is when I did PCI th epaint job was pretty decent. At this stage aparrently the thre coats were on. Some minor touch ups required. However There was one area of a wall in the hall way which you could see the undercoat in. It was obviously missed. At the time I thought nothing of it and just highlighted it as a touch up required. On further contemplation i realised how could somone using a roller miss exactly the same space over two coats. The odds are stupidly high, and it wasnt a small spot. The more i look arround now I am noticing areas of my pain that have been sanded. I suspect to get little imperfections off, but not painted over again. im starting to suspect that Ive only gotten two coats and some touch ups. How would I go about confirming i did infact receive three coats? The builders are not obligated to provide me invoices for work their contractors have done. Re: Paint coats - how can you tell? 2Sep 30, 2014 10:13 am Very good question and I am keen to know since the amount that you need to pay for paint is very high. Looking forward to answers. Re: Paint coats - how can you tell? 5Oct 01, 2014 12:02 pm im not paying cash for somone to eyeball my walls and give me an opinion. Im looking for a definitive way to tell. eg invoices would have been a perfect way, but alas a builder has no obligation to provide the invoices. Re: Paint coats - how can you tell? 6Oct 03, 2014 12:04 am I figured if they missed one they missed more. Found a number of areas I could definitely see the undercoat through. Very obvious in areas they couldn't get a roller into and on sloppy plastering e on corners etc. Will be asking them for a refund on the third coat as it seems I didn't get it or I didn't get it everywhere. Re: Paint coats - how can you tell? 7Oct 07, 2014 10:29 am I'm wondering the same thing (for future). The AS painting standard seems to only require two coast on new substrates (one of which can be the undercoat) so i'm wondering what kind of "coverage" i will get with a true white on my internal doors, and the internal metal door frames...Probalby going to pay for a third coat (to be sure to be sure) but then i'll have to really inspect to actually be sure! 2 10988 Hey everyone Not for me or anyone I know, just generally interested.
