Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 24, 2014 11:01 am Hi all, Having difficulties with obtaining insurance for owner supplied items in my new build. I am supplying my own oven, cooktop and rangehood (and some downlights). These will be installed during build by the builder. The builders insurance won't cover the items (explicitly stated in the contract) if they are damaged. I approached CBA regarding some form of insurance to cover these items for the duration of the build until house and contents insurance kicked in after hand over. CBA advised they had no insurance options to cover this and would not cover it with house & contents because the house is technically not mine yet. Has anyone had to deal with this before? Is there something i need to be telling CBA (maybe i am approaching this wrong)? The appliances are expensive, $5000+ in total, so i do need some sort of insurance on them. Cheers.
