Hi all my names Kim
I was wondering if you could put my mind a rest. After watching and reading articles on Mr Fluffy I was concerned about the house we live in. So I got hubby to open the manhole and check out the cavity and he lifted up the pink bats that were installed when the free installation program was happening and he said that it looked very thick with dust under the pink bats. Some of it was around the ceiling fan and I removed it and it looks like dust/fluff and when wet it went like wet cotton wool. I'm a worrier since moving here as I been finding broken pieces of fibro sheeting around the outside and when hubby was making a veggie garden with the tractor he crushed a small 15cm by 15cm piece that's from an old shed which is asbestos due to the honeycomb patten on the back. I wet it and picked it up and some surrounding soil and wrapped it carefully. My question is I was wondering is there any confirmed cases of another company in Sydney area back in the 60's and 70's using loose fill asbestos for ceiling instillation? And is it likely that it's just dust collection in the roof as the house is 60 years old? Thank you in advance for answering my concerns
