Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 15, 2014 4:45 pm Hi All, My husband and I are nearly finished building our home. We have a lot of carpentry to be done and I need some opinions on quality carpenters who will provide value without being over-the-top with pricing. (To give you an idea, we need shelving in our laundry, we have a small niche to fit out, lots of book shelving for the office, a TV unit, and a huge 6x3 walk in wardrobe.) I have heard of Wokai Design but can't really find much in the way of reviews or pricing. Any ideas? If you can give your experience and pricing that would be lovely. Thanks, Ang. Re: Carpentry and Walk-In Wardrobe: Advice 2Sep 15, 2014 5:45 pm My only advice is to get 3 quotes and don't necessarily take the cheapest ... We really didn't get enough "linen" type space in our new home. More drawers in the walk in robes would have been better too. But - the more storage space the better. Agreed; the cheapest definitely isn't the way to go! We had a look at a couple - even Ikea. But I cannot be convinced of the quality. To me it's just flimsy storage with cutesy ideas. However there never seems to be a medium - either super cheap or ridiculously expensive. Thank you Re: Carpentry and Walk-In Wardrobe: Advice 4Sep 17, 2014 6:22 am hi try cabinet makers or kitchen place.s in your area. i had a cabinet maker install large bookshelves and a side area for tv for approx $2500. for this price he also installed shelves in a niche near the kitchen Re: Carpentry and Walk-In Wardrobe: Advice 5Sep 17, 2014 7:48 am 1rocky hi try cabinet makers or kitchen place.s in your area. i had a cabinet maker install large bookshelves and a side area for tv for approx $2500. for this price he also installed shelves in a niche near the kitchen We've been trying to get someone to install a shelf/cupboard in that space above the fridge. High ceilings so plenty of room. Cost is astronomical. I'd welcome an idea(s).
