hi everyone, yesterday I had someone come in to hang wallpaper in a bedroom. I had three rolls of wallpaper I purchased online. He put them up and it was evident some drops were a different shade (some white, some more a light beige-- the white is what I want). Wallpaper guy assured me everything would dry to the white shade. He also told me it would be dry in two days.
Now, I'm a very impatient person I admit! But 17 hours later, the different shades are still glaringly obvious. Think half a wall of the whiter paper then half the wall the darker paper, then strips of the whiter paper that were used to patch up a gap in the darker section. The wall itself is painted a really faint single colour, so the paint on the wall is not affecting the wallpaper colour.
I'm wondering how the heck this could happen! I am certain my rolls were the same shade when I purchased them because I took great care, being an international order I didn't want to get it wrong (even so, I think white and blue were the only options, no beige)! And even if one of the rolls was a different shade, surely the wallpaper guy would have noticed it as he was pasting it and putting it up?
The wallpaper guy was not bothered in the slightest when he pointed out the different colours, he said don't worry it will all dry to the white paper colour. Me, I'm not as cool about it because it just looks waaaaay too different.
Is this a common thing? Haven't seen or heard of this happening before
