Connecting services

Hi there,

just wondering how do I go about finding out how much my services will be to hook up if I manage to secure a bit of land I am under contract with.

Do I simply get in touch with the electricity company and gas company and water?

Is there any way of saving any money in these areas? Trenching out whileI have a digger on site for example?
That's pretty much it.

Although it is usually your sparky that contacts your equivalent of Energex to do the actual connection, but up here you need to establish the account with the electricity retailer before the wholesaler can do anything.

Gas ? no idea I'm afraid as where I am it is bottled gas.

If you can get the appropriate trenches dug, i.e. 600mm deep for electricity, then it is bound to save on the tradies labour costs.
