Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 27, 2014 9:45 pm My builder will not allow us to get our own installer for a new build. The one they contracted is charging us over the roof using inferior, soon to be outdated equipment. We have no other alternatives but to install NBN after the building is completed. Would like to hear the experiences from those of you who already have NBN installed either in established homes or homes under construction. The former would definitely cost more. Anything else I should be aware? Thank you. Re: Anyone has NBN installed in Melbourne South East? 2Nov 30, 2014 8:49 am Nbn installation is free as the government pays for it. But this is only the installation of pulling the fibre through the lead-in conduit (you have to pay for the conduit just like connecting any other service to the house) and then the installation of the network termination device (ntd) with the fibre connected and that's it. If you you are actually talking about data ports throughout the house, that is not part of the nbn. If you need to have them installed after handover due to costs then you can request the builder to install conduit in the walls where you want a data port and that will allow the licensed cabler to pull through the network cables a lot easier and can save costs on labour. Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from? Looking for recommendations. Thanks 0 21091 Hi, can anyone recommend a custom home builder who can build in north east area? Looking to build a custom 4-br energy-efficient home with a max budget of 750k. If they… 0 22797 May I ask why you chose not to use GJ Gardiner? I'm actually meeting with one of the sales guys tomorrow for an appointment. Definitely not signing anything yet… 3 13234 |
