Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 25, 2014 8:31 pm We have gone through the whole rigamarole of thinking about relocating kitchens, extending up,extending back, and now we have another light bulb moment. Given our master bedroom is huge, we are thinking of moving the 3 kids (all under 5) into the master and hubby and i into the second bedroom. We have a 3rd bedroom but it is on the opposite side of house, isolated and not insulated. What is making us hesitate is that the kids will be in the front bedroom, close to the street. How would you feel about this? Would you do it? We thought we could install roller shutters to secure their room a little more. Re: Accommodating for all with what we have 2Aug 26, 2014 6:55 am Three kids under 5? Id extend before it turns into three kids under 10. Plus id be more worried with their access to a bath in their bedroom at that age than window to the street. Re: Accommodating for all with what we have 5Aug 26, 2014 5:51 pm Sounds like party time. Will they sleep? If that isn't an issue just deadlock the windows and front door (with a high latch they can't reach). At the end of the day if a baddie wants your kids they'll get them regardless of where they are sleeping (if that's the worry) Re: Accommodating for all with what we have 6Aug 27, 2014 7:08 am Ari Sounds like party time. Sharing can be fun - for the right kids. Aspect and position is an issue too. Is there a busy road to keep them awake ? Is it facing west ? You might get late sun - even if you have daylight saving - which could affect their sleep. A question. Im in Queensland and building a new home.
