Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 02, 2014 3:15 pm Hi everyone This may sound like a stupid question (please forgive me!) but I need to delay my build until ,later in the year as I need to address some health issues. I know my demolition company that I engaged on 4/4/14 has gotten approval for my property to be demolished just wanted to find out if people know how long demo permit is valid for?? I tried looking up on Moreland City council web but had no luck? I'm in Melbourne Victoria. I know I could ask demo company but I wanted to ask here first! TIA Re: How long is a demolition permit valid once granted? 2Jul 02, 2014 4:54 pm I'd ring them - its an important thing to know. Well I ended up going to demo company & explained to them that there will be a delay with building, therefore demo is on hold as well. Demo permit was granted on 30th April 2014 (27 days) after I signed with them. They told me the demo permit is valid for 2 years but the council asset protection permit is only valid for 12 months, which I can easily ring up council before 12months expires & pay the fee again! Let's hope we'll be starting our build in the next 3 months! Anyway happy to share any info I have! Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
