Hi
Its common knowledge that any floorplan design that you see or choose at a project builder (like Clarendon/ Allcastle/ Eden Brae etc etc) are their propriety. We just cant take it to a third party private builder and ask him to build the same exact thing.
But someone just told us that once you get a tender and pay whatever is required for proper draftperson's drawings etc. (usually $3000 - $5000 depending on builder) then the design becomes 'yours'. At this stage you are then free to take it to any third party builder and get their quote on it.
If you decide to go ahead with the third party builder, the project home company you chose the design from cannot pursue you legally.
Is that correct ?
