Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 13, 2014 8:56 pm Hey guys just wanted opinions on the colours we've chosen Bricks - austral Hawthorn Roof - terracotta black onyx Gable trims / Gutters / facias - basalt Garage door and Gable infills - surfmist Windows - anodic grey I'm starting to second guess our selection. Will the surf mist garage be too bright? Should we change the windows to surf mist to compliment the garage door and gable infills? Re: Second guessing colour selections 3Jun 13, 2014 9:07 pm I just don't like the idea of dark roof that you want to have, but that's your call only. That said, I'm not real sure a surfmist garage door with the dark roof will work at all because of the sharp contrast between the two. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Second guessing colour selections 4Jun 13, 2014 9:12 pm I was thinking maybe we should change the garage door to shale grey or something. Mind you of we did that all surf mist items would change Or alternatively we could change the roof tile to charcoal or something Very much appreciate the point of view and looking for help because our colour consultant wasn't real helpful Re: Second guessing colour selections 5Jun 13, 2014 9:22 pm Shale grey or even Cove or Gully would be a better combination to your chosen roof colour. Re: Second guessing colour selections 6Jun 13, 2014 9:27 pm Yeah I think so. Should I be looking to match the window colour with the facias or the garage door? I'm thinking the garage door because I might loose the window feature with a dark colour Re: Second guessing colour selections 7Jun 13, 2014 9:43 pm Personally I'd be doing the windows the same as the garage door and fascia, although I'm certainly not the decorative type. My own home has black window frames, Boral Sandstone Gold (double height), with garage, roof, fascias and gutters in surfmist. The idea is partially contrast against the bricks, and the front windows really only get direct sun in the winter, so being black should add a tiny bit of warmth to the front rooms.
