Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 18, 2014 10:17 pm Thought I'd be real smart the other week, and put the left over plywood sheets on to the garage floor so that when it rained it wouldn't be sitting on the muddy ground. Well the problem is that the oils from the plywood sheets leach out and have stained the garage floor quite badly. I've tried to pour water and scrub it out with the broom, and whilst it removed a fair bit of it, there's still quite a bit of a stain left there. Has anyone had this happen to them before, and if so what did you do to get rid of the stain ? Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: Removing plywood stains from concrete surface 3May 19, 2014 10:21 pm mgilla There's a product by inter grain called timber restorer, you can get it from bunnings in the paint section. it will take it off. Thanks for the info, I went in there today and found a restora product, but it seemed to only be for removing stains from the timber, not timber stains off of concrete. Re: Removing plywood stains from concrete surface 5May 20, 2014 9:29 am Thanks for the name. I'll go and grab some. Should be useful for other marks elsewhere on the concrete too. Re: Removing plywood stains from concrete surface 8Aug 10, 2014 8:28 pm Sorry, I have been distracted with other items on the home build, and had forgotten all about following it up. I will take another look at it tomorrow when I go out there. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Blog : http://bandlnewhomebuild.blogspot.com H1 thread : viewtopic.php?f=38&t=68283 . Re: Removing plywood stains from concrete surface 9Aug 19, 2014 9:10 am I actually took a closer look at the other day I was out at the house, and without doing anything much at all, other than an initial scrub after heavily wetting the concrete down which got rid of a lot of it, the stain has mostly disappeared ! Strange I know, but I'm guessing it really was only a surface stain that has rubbed itself off. It looked really bad and obvious when it was first there, but walking over it has taken that was left off of the ground, so really seems like it didn't penetrate down too far. That all said, I now have a lot of small stain marks from smalls bits of gumtree twigs that landed in there during a storm leaving a lot of little 3-5mm marks on the surface.
