Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 15, 2014 12:30 pm Hi, we signed a PPA with our WA builder earlier this year, which was 3% of the total construction cost. We paid $18,000. We are happy with the design and quality of the builders previous homes. We have nearly finished our pre-start (this has been painful which is another story in itself) and contracts will be with us soon for signing. The question I have is does this $18,000 deposit we paid come off the final construction cost? I thought it did but reading the Dept of Commerce site is says "The fee for undertaking the preparatory work for a Preparation of Plans Agreement is normally not refundable.
