Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 12, 2014 5:35 pm OMG HELP Hubby and I were very clear on our colours and made our decisions very quickly, now we are freaking out We had floor tiles picked out that we loved but have found out they are not available to use (a beautiful uneven light grey). We don't really like any of the tiles the builder has given us to choose from and unfortunately, we cannot afford to lay them after handover as the quotes we've gotten are significantly higher than the credit we will get. So I thought of possibly using Karndean vinyl planks instead (will actually result in some credit) But now we have no idea if it will go with anything we have already chosen and we have Prestart on Thursday so we need to make a decision now! We have gone with a Dark & Light Grey colour scheme throughout our house. We're thinking the walls will be a light grey, either Solver Spirit grey or Solver Soft Apparition Carpets will be dark charcoal Bathrooms have a charcoal floor tile and black wall tiles with light cabinetry and grey benchtops http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h140/vetty19/House/f53ad064ee758346194416aa7ffb2713_zpsfad6eb46.jpg Laundry has a mid grey floor tile and white wall tiles with light grey cabinetry and grey benchtops http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h140/vetty19/House/f0ce7da2484037919cf3230764e43180_zps73ca5bc3.jpg Kitchen will have Blackened linewood Cabinetry with vertical grain (Love love love this and really don't want to change) and New Crystal Salt Essastone Benchtops with a Black Uneven feature tile as splashback. Kickers - ?? Thinking an aluminium look laminate? or grey (similar to laundry benchtop) http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h140/vetty19/House/4d247c4052cb5e5714f0e81c9f9c64b3_zps13f84099.jpg We had a look at the Karndean flooring colours on Saturday and are sad that if we do go down this path we may have to change our colours already picked We would like to keep our floors light without looking too washed out. We don't like any of the grey looking planks so our main option (I think) would be the Van Gogh Smoked Oak (which going by the picture would look really nice with the carpets so therefore should be ok with the bathroom & laundry tiles) BUT will it go ok with my kitchen colours????? My other thinking is do we go for a slightly warmer look with Classic Oak/Lancewood/Antique Karri?? Would that go better with the blackened linewood? Don't laugh but here is a very quick photoshop mockup of the colours....WDYT?? It's top of my shortlist right now. If you used it, I'd love to see a picture. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Re: HELP with Kitchen/Floor colours before Prestart Thur 15/ 3Jul 14, 2015 12:06 am Hi, sorry so late replying! We didn't end up going with soft apparition as it was advised it threw a purple hue! We ended up going with Cape Horn which is a gorgeous subtle grey that doesn't throw any purple and hardly any blue (which considering it's a grey is kind of surprising) It's really hard to capture in photos and the sample cards almost look white but we love it My build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70655&p=1164017#p1164017 Our House is full of magical things patiently waiting for our Home to be built Re: HELP with Kitchen/Floor colours before Prestart Thur 15/ 4Jul 14, 2015 1:59 am Thanks for that. I haven't committed yet, but I have decided not to go with Soft Apparition for fear of it looking lavender at times. The Cape Horn looks like a lovely fresh colour. http://www.housebythewater.wordpress.com From blank block to new home in Mandurah, Western Australia. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65564 Hi Everyone, wondering if anyone has done a prestart lately with summit homes in WA and what kind of costs were associated with adding gpo's and downlights? we are also… 0 3860 Hey There.
