In my area, it's really hard to win at auctions as you really need to fight if you wanted to buy a new house due to the neighbourhood and community. And we also didn't want to move further away as our current location is very convenient in terms of shops and public transport/distance to other areas. Also, my area is mainly an Asian community and I find that while people want to live in our area, they also want a new and modern house.
