Looking at bunnings there are so many diff products offering repairs of lawn patches etc. But looking for some inputs here. Please suggest what to do in this case? Any specific recommendation for product to use?

Cheers
For an overnight fix, dig up the dead section, spread some soil enhancer then lay some new turf in its place (same species). It will soon integrate with the existing lawn and will look perfect. Take a turf sample to a turf farm or landscaper and they will tell you what you need if you don't already know.

For the long drawn out option, aerate the dead patch, spread some top soil, fertilise regularly and water until the good section mixes and old sections comes good again. Hard to tell from the pic but this option will almost certainly take months (especially in autumn > winter).

Oh no! I would use a can of expandable foam ( there are some that will take render) then cut it back and render over the top
