Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 23, 2008 8:31 pm You know those screens that look kinda like really well/tightly thatched woven cane with a wooden type frame? The wood is quite a dark wood and the thatched bit is slightly lighter. They look very sturdy and tend to be in 3 movable parts.
Anyone know where to get this sort of thing? I've seen one I liked but it was waaaay too expensive at over $1,000. I'm hoping for under $300 preferably, but I do NOT want any cheap ones. I at present have one that has a pale wooden frame and very flimsy paper type inner parts and it was about $80 from...somewhere I can't recall now. (I don't want another one like this) Thank you! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Where to get a really nice indoor room divider screen? 2May 23, 2008 11:15 pm I've always wanted to have a reason to use one of these Shoji screens....these are timber with fibreglass panels....err probably more than $1000 though...

I love the first one ($1000) but it's actually too big. We just want more like the first Ikea one, but not so pale in colour. I want a more dark, sort of ethnic/tribal type screen. I would like to go to IKEA, but it's a bit awkward since we don't drive and the nearest one is a long way away. I wonder if they deliver...if they delivered and it didn't cost a heap, we'd take a whole day to get out there and make the effort. Freedom though, is close by. Thanks again! They do deliver but for the price of these items it wouldn't be worth it unless you were buying other things.....they may have smart solutions to your CD rack query. As I said some people have "issues" with IKEA but when we first started out in a two bedroom flat they had lots of practical apartment solutions. The other types of shops I've seen these sorts of screens are shops which specialise in Balinese, African arts, clothing, and artifacts. Not the "chain" type stores (House of Bali) but sort of "owner run" shops - hard to describe the type of store but you know as soon as you go in. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Where to get a really nice indoor room divider screen? 6May 24, 2008 7:47 pm I wish some of the other ladies/women/[insert salutation] would comment on this post....taking interior design advice from a bloke may not be highly recommended....

Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I found it from here: http://shop.makeyourhouseahome.com.au/ecms/product.asp?pid=16966&cid=1969 It's kind of got that ethnic feel. And it's dark wood. It's just that it's got four panels and over your $300 budget. Two out of four ain't bad, right? [sneakersss] Re: Where to get a really nice indoor room divider screen? 8May 24, 2008 8:24 pm I tried to get to ikea today but frankly you need a packed lunch just
to get a parking space, I swear half of perth was there the freedom ones from memory were either dark chocolate wood or more like plantation shutters white but thats just from memory best to ring and ask before making the journey in or check their website Re: Where to get a really nice indoor room divider screen? 9May 24, 2008 8:45 pm Ooh yeah, the Freedom ones you describe sound perfect I think! I'll check out the website.
