I don't see how it's any less obtrusive than a ceiling fan, and not that attractive in my opinion. The wife would like to put them in the other bedrooms. We went with other types of fans for the other rooms… the fanaways are almost silent, the blade is very curved which allows for amazing airflow, we only ever have it on low… and I think it looks great. most people can't even tell its a fan. very high quality steel construction with high impact plastic blades… we've had them for years and no way will they break. they come with a long warranty too. I would HIGHLY recommend them.
