Our architect has sent us the following bit of information:
"Another potential issue Ive noticed I would like to bring to your attention.
The party wall is to be a brick veneer wall, with the face-brick left untreated (ie unpainted). Brick walls, especially the pressed bricks you'll be using, have a tendency to draw in moisture, through the bricks and mortar joints
Typically a brick veneer wall is comprised of a external brick skin, 50mm cavity, and 90mm internal stud wall.
When water has penetrated the external brick skin (due to heavy rains) or through other means (ie eaves or roof tiles) the water usually travels down the back of the wall within the cavity and is expelled at the bottom of the wall via flashing and weep holes.
Problem is that the bottom of the party wall doesnt have anywhere for the water to be expelled out to, except for either inside your property or your neighbours property."
Is there any suggested solutions to the above identified issue.
