Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 17, 2014 9:13 pm Hello Guys, We have recently moved into 3bedroom house and planning to do : 1> full reno of a bathroom 2> add extra toilet and shower (somewhere in the house) Please check the floor plan. http://i61.tinypic.com/330fapw.jpg Bath : 2.4m x 1.8m WC : 1.37m x 0.89m Our idea is to remove the wall between BATH and WC and make it a bigger bathroom. But we are thinking where can we add extra toilet and shower? May be add extra toilet and shower (as a ensuite) in the master bedroom? Appreciate if you can provide your ideas on this or if you can suggest any other option to achieve pt(2). Thanks. Re: Your inputs for our bathroom reno ... 2Mar 17, 2014 9:27 pm My 2 cents would be... I would leave the Toilet separate from the shower, personally is like them separate as you can still use the toilet will the shower is being used. In a small house this can be very beneficial. Maybe in the main bathroom, you could try and fit another toilet if you Change the bath under the window and have the door to the bathroom as a sliding door. Regarding the ensuite in the main bedroom, I wouldn't make the room any smaller but you could relocate your front door to the other side if the lounge then use the entrance and porch area to move the room over to make room for an Ensuite. Good luck Re: Your inputs for our bathroom reno ... 3Mar 17, 2014 10:26 pm Thanks UpsizeTime We really want to avoid fitting extra toilet in main bathroom Just want to make bigger area for that part. Appreciate your thoughts about ensuite in the main bedroom, hope to see more ideas from others. Re: Your inputs for our bathroom reno ... 4Mar 18, 2014 11:59 am I think your bed 1 would become very squisy if you tried to put an ensuite in there. You could maybe extend the laundry in to the rumpus and put a small powder room setup there? For the bathroom, you could swap the shower and bath for a shower/bath combined. We have one and quite like it, I know some people hate it though. I would keep the toilet and bathroom separate if possible. Re: Your inputs for our bathroom reno ... 5Mar 18, 2014 5:45 pm I would also personally keep the toilet and bathroom separate unless it is an ensuite. If you go to most display homes, that is how they are usually designed and I am sure they have a reason for that With regards to an ensuite, I think it would only be possible if you increase the size of Bed 1. What I would have done is knock down the walls of the Lounge, making it an open concept and relocate the entry door. Then Bed 1 can span into the old entry door area and also a bit of the porch. This would allow you to put an ensuite along the walls on the right. You would probably have to move Bed 1's windows a little to the left.
