Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 11, 2014 4:48 pm Ok so prestart is fast approaching so any advice would be great but i have notice in my contract is goes on about a dishwasher recess as per plans but my plans and the base ones dont have it drawn in so do i get one or not? Also my base plans (before my changes) have high ceilings yet my plans with my variations dont, should i ask for them?
Re: prestart advice 2Feb 11, 2014 5:35 pm The 2 items you mention are fairly fundamental items that are decided during the initial negations / plans / contract. I would strongly recommend that you raise your concerns about the contract/plans discrepancies BEFORE prestart because if you don't you'll probably end up having to pay extra for the ceiling height and dishwasher recess. Re: prestart advice 3Feb 11, 2014 5:41 pm Definitely get the plans sorted out as soon as possible. One thing I always think about before pre-start is electrical. The builders standard in normally pathetic and you don't want to finish up with extension leads around your new house. Take photos of the work all the time and make sure you have regular site visits (if not living on site).
