Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Missing Mike 13May 16, 2008 10:04 pm Hi guys I'm here....appreciate the interest in my whereabouts...I was actually posting something for Haywgl on setbacks.
Well Monday and Tuesday were taken up by last minute packing, and getting the new place ready. Wednesday was moving day. Yesterday we had the alarm guy in (fantastic tradesman with an eye for detail) and unpacking and moving furniture around. Today I was cleaning the old house, and tomorrow I'll do a final whip around the old house for some final items, and take a load of rubbish to the trip. I'd hate to be a messy family, we are quite neat and it's taken a while to thoroughly clean the old place.... Oh and I was on the phone with my ISP for and our and a half to transfer my phone and internet....however in the process I saved $200 on the deal.... I haven't taken any photos because.....well frankly I haven't had time to scratch my **se.....been doing 16 hour days, and because all you would see is boxes....most unflattering.... I'll be glad to go to work for a holiday..... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Missing Mike 14May 16, 2008 10:19 pm Aww Mikey

Still excited, are you still loving your new house after working your tail off? YES! Of course you are! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Missing Mike 19May 17, 2008 10:36 am Michelle Good to have you back Mike! Still excited, are you still loving your new house after working your tail off? YES! Of course you are! Thanks Mish...haven't finished yet just taking a break from finishing off the cleaning at the old place....we still have many boxes to empty...but it's becoming more and more like home. We need to rationalise a bit of furniture, not that it doesn't fit, either doesn't suit the house or not really necessary. We are also desperate to get our books, novels, etc out. They've been packed since we prep'd for selling of the old place and are missing our friends. My To Do List is expanding (all expected) but will make a big change to the house. - Replace the wall oven with a underbench to create a microwave nook and replace the hotplate with a ceramic cooktop...with this kitchen is done - Repaint at the moment the wall colors are a grey-white (if you know what I mean) and takes away from the beautiful hardwood timberwork...the color is almost like Hog Bristle...DW is thinking about Antique White USA....and the previous owner had a thing for feature walls and suede effects there's about three too many feature walls....I think the timberwork needs to speak for itself in some respects - WIR needs an overhaul, everything fits but it looks like a semi home jobbo and needs the be stripped out, walls repainted and I'm liking the look of using laminates other than just melamine - Get an architect (with HomeOne advice) to help us design a rumpus extension for kids play room and DW craft area I still have one more week off work where we be doing a major cull of stuff we have..including stuff in storage we haven't touched in three months. But all in all....we are excited with the move and the home it will become. And the biggest tick of all....DS said yesterday "I love the new house".....phew!... love running up and down the 25 metres of backyard mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9831 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed. Looks like… 0 11255 Yes, the builder is required to finish the wall. What else have you missed? 1 3359 |
