Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 27, 2014 9:18 am Doing a large living room in big 600x600mm tiles. I want the same tiles to flow into the kitchen, around a corner and into the hallway nicely... how do I plan out the job? I think I know how to plan out one room - (the living room), but the way the tiles end up flowing into the kitchen and lounge, after that, would just be random and could look funny, not even getting a full tile through narrow areas with the big 600mm tiles. Is there a way to plan it so that the tiles flow nicely from room to room and around corners, or do you just plan the first room well and let it be random as the tiles transition to the next room. Are there solutions like changing the tile size and design into the next room. Re: DIY Tiling layout - help 2Jan 27, 2014 9:45 am I see where you are coming from, particulary with open plan kitchens and living rooms next to each other, and larger tiles flowing from the living room to kitchen would look a little odd if you can't get the 600 x 600mm centrally located between island bench and the rest of the kitchen. Or do you change to a 600 x 300/450mm tile for the kitchen area ? I'm interested to hear what others have to say too. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end. A quick search on… 3 8401 |
