If they have done a good job and only has the occasional dip of 5 - 10mm then gluing direct to the concrete is the way to go. The tiler should still use string lines for keeping the laid tiles straight and for level but most glues can be built up to 15mm. Doing a direct to slab job just removes one more step although for some jobs the tilers prefer to lay a screed first. Stewie Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering.
