Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 20, 2014 7:19 pm Hi, We are currently looking for land in Western Sydney. Stonecutters Ridge is one of the areas we are looking at. But we were advised by someone (who is a golfer himself) that one shouldn't buy a home near a Golf course. Biggest problem being shattered windows. Is that a big problem. Can someone comment first hand how many broken windows or other Golf-course related damage they have suffered ? Re: Living in a Golf Estate - SCR (broken windows etc...) 2Jan 20, 2014 9:25 pm I have no practical advice or statistics sorry but a funny story. A close friend was being shown a golf course frontage home, they were standing in the backyard (on the frontage) and she asked if they even get damage from golf balls. The real estate agent said never! And at that very moment a golf ball went flying by them and donked off the wall. Hilarious. Poor real estate agent. Our draftsman who has designed several houses in our area recommending avoiding colour bond fencing on the golf side and hebel as both will dent and colour bond is really noisy when hit. I think it depends a lot on the lay out of the course and the design of your house. I personally would avoid building to close to a fairway, but the golf course blocks in my area are some of the most sort after. Re: Living in a Golf Estate - SCR (broken windows etc...) 4Jan 21, 2014 2:07 pm We have a number of friends who back onto golf courses. As a previous poster stated, it really depends on the layout of the golf course in relation to your house. My friends all seem to have the common complaint of snakes in their yards from the golf courses more so than balls. I have an investment property and tenants moved out recently. However the Property manager noticed one of the floor tiles is broken and the kitchen Island countertop is… 0 12902 I would be wary. Is you site demilished but nothing else done? Sounds like liquidity problems to me. Our builder did the same. Got hundreds of thousands of dollars of… 2 15407 3 5594 |
