I contacted a few fencing companies here in Perth and got a range of quotes from $750-1000. I nearly fell off my chair considering I naively thought we could accomplish this for under $500 (doh!). Essentially my first thought was to use pool fencing, requiring 1 x tubular panel and 1 x gate panel. There is already one pole cemented for a shade sail that I thought could be used, lowering the amount of poles required to 2. Then I decided to have 2 x gates so I could easily access the side of my garden bed and use the limestone as a seat near the BBQ. Photo to make more sense of this (excuse our makeshift temp fence), and the most recent quote I got: http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/ ... cb2e66.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d113/ ... 948a6d.jpg I was also hoping the left gate panel could be installed into the top of the limestone garden bed, but I was told it's too brittle to drill into and would crack. True? Thoughts? Am I being a serious cheapo here or are those quotes pricey? What alternatives could I go for? The main reason for the gate is so while we are out our dog doesn't eat my herbs, and keep it open if we're home.
