Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone may have some advice on how to deter illegal rubbish dumping on your vacant block of land.
Unfortunately this has happened to me.
My block is located in the Livingston Estate in Cranbourne East VIC. We purchased it in March last year and have had no issues until now and we are only weeks away from the build commencing.
Some thoughtless person has dumped a full trailer load of waste (mattress, car bumper, garden waste, wood, boots, buckets, concrete bags..the list goes on).
Our builder has told us it is our responsibility to keep the site clear. We have made a report to the local council who are coming out to take a look to see if there is any incriminating evidence from the culprit but essentially they too have told us we have to clean it up once they are finished. It is going to cost over $100 just for the tip run.
Has this happened to anyone else? Our whole street is currently building except for us and our next door neighbours so I'm worries we are the perfect dumping ground for wrong doers as the block is not in view from the main roads due to other houses around it.
I have already cleaned up rubbish twice on the block but nothing like this!
Any advice is appreciated!
P.S. Casey Council have said we are not eligible for hard rubbish collection until we actually have a house on the block.
Thanks!
