Gday,
Just wondering if anyone can tell me how many horizontal noggins are in a normal 2.7m height studded timber frame,as some say1 and some say 2,anyone have a definitive answer?

Our structural engineer used to have a rough guideline of one row for 450mm spacings and two for 600mm spaced studs but that was just a general rule of thumb that he wanted us to follow where possible. I'm unsure how that applies to the AS but the walls used to feel stiffer with two rows opposed to one.
