Hi folks
We are in the process of having our ensuite bathroom 'done'.
Tiling is about 1/4 complete but my tiler is coming back tomorrow and has a question which we need to confirm with him tomorrow....
We are having a mirror behind our vanity (not a recessed mirror cabinet - just a plain Stegbar mirror).
Question is - do we put the mirror straight onto the cement sheeting and have it sit level-ish with the wall tiles.
- Or - have the wall completely tiled and sit the mirror on top of the tiles.
Our bathroom guy is fantastic - old school - does a good job. But - he mostly does work in a lot of the older, traditional homes (tesselated tiles, type of thing) so I can't necessarily trust his advice when it comes to 'trends' (for eg, he told us most people prefer bevilled edge mirrors but I disagree on that front - or - accept that his clients may mostly want that look but that is not the look we want). He says best thing is to recess the mirror so it sits flush(ish) with the tiles, but I can't help but wonder if we should tile completely behind and sit the mirror on top?????
Any input on what is 'the trend' or the best way to go on this.
The 'pro' of tiling behind, is the fact that this sits against my son's bedroom so an extra layer (ie tiles etc) would be handy, rather than the mirror sitting straight onto the cement sheeting. But... just want to hear what you good folk have to say on what either 'the trend' is or the best finished look - or what you have done in your bathroom. As I said, not mirrored vanity cupboards - just a plain mirror.
Cheers for any urgent input. As I said, have to decide by first thing tomorrow.
