Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 13, 2013 10:34 pm We are in Redlands in QLD We have an 800sqm block and looking to build a carport. We are on a corner and it will be on the side boundary (not the front door side). So no neighbours. We aren't sure how close we can put it to the boundary? Ideally we want it right to the edge (well 20mm off), but not sure if that is allowed? I have looked on the council site and it says so long as it is under so many metres, 7 I think, and behind the front of the house, which it will be, that it is ok? But council stuff is rather confusing so I'm not sure. Re: Carport - how close to boundary? QLD 2Dec 14, 2013 5:57 am Anything within 150mm of the boundary is normally considered to be on the boundary as far as council rules are concerned. Generally car ports aren't a problem as long as they are less than 10m (For more explanation see http://www.anewhouse.com.au/2013/02/can ... -boundary/) The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! My council in WA allowed 9m length hard up against the boundary, I then stepped in 1.5m for the remaining section. thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16289 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17168 In WA zero lot is actually zero lot. We build 10mm in from the boundary. My house and my neighbours house have garages that sit only 20mm apart. When I had our roof done… 3 7073 |
