At the risk of feeding the troll: Water pumps pump water from the bottom of the building, where the water pipes come in, to the top of the building, so people up there can use the water. All the other tall buildings, where you can't actually see the pumps, use gravity-defying water which was invented by school students Archie Andrews and Reggie Mantle at Riverdale High School in 1969.
