Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 24, 2013 12:39 pm Hello everyone, Im looking at a house right now that is build in the 50's on slab foundation. As you can see here, concrete attached to the house has bent and lifting off away from the house. I did not see many cracks in the bricks. Thank you Re: Should I be worried about this foundation? (Pics) 2Oct 24, 2013 1:48 pm I would get a building inspector. (Pics) 4Oct 24, 2013 4:42 pm Stewie D I think that strip of concrete is just a poorly laid mowing strip and completely separate from the floor slab. Stewie Hi, I agree. Dig a bit of a test hole next to the wall in the last photo and see what you find below ground level. There should be a proper footing down there. Cheers Are you saying that these consultants are involved at key-points of the building, and perform site inspects at the stages, or only after building is completed to point… 4 9004 That's very helpful, thank you. I was mostly interested in knowing if a spoon drain requires a specific slope, but I appreciate the extra information. 4 3921 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 11137 |
