The flooring for the entire area is stone-look porcelain tiles. I am counting on a Roomba to keep me from spending my declining years sweeping, but where to set up the docking station for it? Large open-format = no discreet corners for parking the thing. Is it sophisticated enough to find its way if its home is around the corner in the front passage, under the boot bench? I'd rather not be moving it from place to place because I'm such a procrastinator I'll put it off or forget. I want to make sure that one or two appropriate power points are specified right now while we're upgrading our electrical and lighting. Where does your Roomba dock, and what would the ideal docking location be? And, should I block it off from the persian carpet in the lounge area? Anyway, our docking station is under some in-built shelves, so it still has easy access out, but it somewhat hidden ( the shelves sit about 40cm off the ground). It's just a matter of making sure we include the power point where it's needed. Also, we're looking into possibly getting some nooks put into some door frames so we can conceal the virtual walls somewhat. Though I'm a bit wary that they may become dust traps.
