Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 05, 2008 10:27 am Hi All,
We have just comepleted another stage of our rear verandah "makeover". We first put our 6 person spa in, then the PVC cafe blinds, and over the weekend built in the end wall and painted. Now we have painted my wife is unsure of the colour choice. I'm after opinions/ideas on the colour of the wall, and what colour to paint the window frame. Any suggestions/comments (be nice ) would be appreciated. Should have gone with a warm or neutral tone to compliment the surrounding features eg stone wall. We thought the same thing originally but had some paint left over from a previous project we thought we would use up. Also thought green would add a bit of colour to an otherwise pretty boring area. We have classic cream that we were thinking we could use if it really didnt sit well with us. Re: Undercover Entertaining area makeover 9May 05, 2008 3:09 pm What about putting some nice potted palms in front of the wall? That would make the green seem a little more natural and a little less 'shock & awe'
Also - maybe some wooden wall carvings might look nice. After 4 years - we're in! Brave colour choice! Definately not me (I am anti green everything except grass) but then I dont have to like it as it is not my house. When it comes to colours I am a very safe/neutral person and therefore I would prefer the classic cream. Mike i know you've taken the picture with the cover on, but what colour is the inside of the spa??? I would maybe have gone a sort of burgundy colour wall maybe or a wooden look background...to add to the warmth of the timber spa surround and the stone wall... But hey at the end of the day, it's your place and YOU guys are the ones that need to be happy with it. I'd agree with stonecutter, decorate the walls with hangings. I'd also suggest that you consider painting the mission brown downpipe so it doesn't stand out as much against the brickwork... Also potted plants will soften the look of the concrete around the spa as well.... Well, that's my 2 cents worth.... I personally don't thin the color works either, and agree with Phoenix's advice. Warmer colors would add more appeal. Give d@n a break OK!
