My tip (found from someone else's post!): Don't get flooring put in until you've compared quotes from specialist companies. You'll probably find it cheaper than paying your project builder for this. So to get what you wont you have to up the carpet quality and up your price, and make sure the builder takes it out of his quote! This may sound basic but from our experience does not happen as often as it should. Quite often people can get side tracked by a price 'from a friend of a friend' or a similar situation. Whatevever the project, it should be approached with a 'no friends' clinical attitude.
