Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 13, 2013 12:07 pm I am in the process of deciding between bamboo or timber (or engineered timber). Leaning towards bamboo for the hardwearing aspect (kids and dogs) but also don't have a huge budget, hence shying away from some of the stronger timbers. We have about $140 p/m to spend, over 100 square metres. the main thing I am having problems with is the slight bevelled edge that the pre-finished boards seem to have. I just don't like the look. Not sure if this is a quality thing at some of the carpet places I have looked at. I haven't been to any proper wood laying companies as yet. (Am doing what I can from my laptop!) So, any suggestions that may fit into my price range, and have a natural, FLAT look, whilst also being hard wearing? Or am I pondering the bevelled edge too much? Does it not stand out so much in a vast area, or is it as obvious as I think? (this will be for a long entrance/ hallway, kitchen, dining, living, secondary hallway to bedrooms.
